Feedback from Ignite Sydney
Thanks to those who came along to Ignite Sydney last night. We hope you had as much fun as we did.
We’d love to hear your feedback on things you liked, and things we could do better – please leave a comment for us.
Congratulations to the presenters, who all did such amazing jobs. We’ll upload some videos shortly.
We’d like to thank our sponsors Anchor web hosting, Thoughtworks, Campaign Monitor, Web Directions and The Rohans for their generous support – we couldn’t put on this event without your encouragement. And a huge thanks to Eclipse Productions for filming the proceedings, and Eugene Tan of Aquabumps for donating the awesome prize.

Well done on another great event – though I missed the SMS voting by virtue of its user-participation value (ie I don’t think of it as a competition.
Believe it or not, I would even pay a modest fee to attend, if that were the plan.
(I can hear the boo, hiss in the background).
Hi John,
We’re always open for donations to help offset the costs – but feel it’s important that Ignite remains free, and open for anyone interested to attend.
You can get in touch via info@ignitesydney.com if you’re serious!
Thanks for a fun evening! Not entirely sure how I would change the event to make it better but I think it makes sense to think about what will make people keep coming to
these events? Some things that I got out of this event and would make me
come back again:
- I’m entertained
- I learn something
- I meet interesting people
- I discover new opportunities – commercial/personal
I think it would be good to arrange the night’s schedule in a way that encourages more networking/chatting. The night was pretty fast spaced, and then at the end it seemed there was really nothing to hang around on for, so people just leave.
An idea maybe to do something, e.g. raffle, a trivia game, or something else non-speech, so that after all the speeches are done, attendees have time and motivation or mingle and have fun.

Hi- I have booked for one of the managers in my team to attend Web Directions South but would very much like to attend the Ignite3 event myself- I am the producer of AMPLIFY and we run something similar for PhD students as part of AMPLIFY- its called Tech on Tap. Would you be able to add me to your registration e-mail news alert please?
Hi Annalie,
We’ve just registered you for Ignite Sydney 3, you should have received an email confirmation.
Thanks
Ignite Sydney.
